Your statutory rights

Here's a brief outline of your statutory rights plus a reassurance that none of our terms and conditions in anyway conflict or diminish your statutory rights. Your rights are outlined in the Consumer Protection (Distance Selling) Regulations 2000 and the Consumer Protection (Distance Selling) (Amendment) Regulations 2005.

If you want to fully review of your statutory rights, the trading standards website is very good and helpfully explains everything in plain English.

Before the Sale

We are obliged by law to provide you with the following information before you decide to buy:

  • Our name and address: See the contact us page.
  • An accurate description of the goods or services.
  • The price, along with any taxes and delivery charges if relevant, and how long the price or offer remains valid.
  • Description of the delivery arrangements.
  • Description of the payment arrangements.
  • The existence of a right to cancel the order.
  • Information about whether you will be liable for the cost of returning goods if you change your mind about them.
  • The trader should inform you if he/she intends to offer substitute goods to those ordered if the ordered goods are unavailable, and also inform you that the cost of returning substitute goods will be met by the trader.
  • If we contact you by telephone, we will identity ourselves and then state the commercial purpose of the call at the beginning of the conversation.

All the above information can be viewed within customer care pages and the individual product pages.

After the sale

We are obliged by law to provide you with the following information after each sale:

  • Written confirmation of your order email including the above information.
  • Written information on how to cancel, a contact postal address and details of any guarantees, warranties or after-sales services, if applicable.
  • Traders who provide one-off services by distance communication, and invoice the consumer, are not obliged to provide written confirmation of the contractual information, but should provide an address and place of business where complaints can be made.
  • This information should be sent to you by the time the goods are delivered, or before, or soon after the time a service starts.

We always email you with an order confirmation showing all the required details and more. Plus we will also inform you when your order/item has been despatched. You can review all your orders from within your My Account, and download or print a copy an invoice if you require to do so at any time. We include an original invoice with your order as well.

Your right to cancel, or the 'cooling off' period

The Distance Selling Regulations give you the right to change your mind and cancel an order within seven working days. If you do decide to cancel, you should put this in writing, Email is best or you can quickly and easily cancel and return an order or item from within your 'My Account'. For more information on how to cancel and return an order or item, please see the Returns policy page.

The time limits for cancelling an order are:

Goods: 7 working days after the day on which the goods are received;

Services: 7 working days after the day on which you agree to go ahead with the agreement.

You must take care of goods whilst they are in your possession and, if you are returning them, you should take reasonable care to ensure that they are safely returned and that they are not damaged in transit. If the goods are not adequately packaged, are incorrectly addressed or do not carry the correct postage, and become damaged as a result, you may be liable.

If the goods are faulty, damaged or incorrect we will refund you the amount paid in full including postage plus the return postage. If you are simply canceling the order, we will refund the amount paid in full including postage but not the return postage. Please note that CD, DVD, or software products that have been opened can not be returned unless faulty.

If you decide to return the goods within these time limits, you are entitled to expect your money to be refunded within 28 days.

Protection for credit cards

If somebody uses your card fraudulently or dishonestly (without your knowledge) for any kind of distance purchase, you can cancel the payment and the card issuer must refund you. You should notify your card issuer as soon as possible after you discover this fraudulent use, or if your card has been stolen.
