Your first order

Xultbooks.com Medical Bookshop is designed to be easy to use but a little help is always reassuring should you need it. This page is designed to guide you through placing your first order. If you need further help, please contact one of our online representatives.

Navigating and using the search

First you need to find what you want to buy. At the top of every page are the two main tools that will help you navigate your way around the site:

The search bar: You can enter the ISBN, title, keyword or author into the search box to quickly find what you're looking for.

The Category tabs: These are the eight large tabs at the top of each page, along with the browse box, which lists all the specialties within a category, top left of the each page. See na vigating for more information.

Adding items to your basket

Imagine you are in the supermarket and you're doing the weekly shop, well it's the same here except you get to do it with a cup of coffee in your hand sitting down. Simply browse around and find the items you want to buy.

Once you've found the item(s) you want, to add the items to your basket press the Buy button next to the book cover image. This will take you to 'My Basket' where you will see all the items you've added to your basket so far.

You can easily delete items from My Basket by pressing the 'Remove' Button. You can also increase the number of copies you require, this automatically defaults to 1 copy. To change this to 2 copies, over type the number and press the 'Update' button.

You now have two options: You can either 'Continue shopping' or 'Go to Checkout'. The Continue shopping button will take you to the specialty home page you were browsing before, but we'll assume you're all shopped out and want to Go to Checkout to buy your items.

Checkout - Personal details

This is where you need to complete registration. If you are already registered, you can quickly enter your user name and password and all your details will be automatically retrieved. However if this is your first time, then you will need to fill in all the required fields:

Name details - Title, First name and Surname
Phone number - For delivery purposes
Billing address - The address where your payment card you intend to use is registered (this is for security checks)
Delivery address - If different from your billing address you will need to enter this as well. If not, it is automatically completed for you.
Account access details - Add your new username and password. You can use these later to access your My Account and track your order or update your details

If this is your first time and you're not already registered, you will automatically be registered. A registration email will be sent to you. You will also notice the option to join our mailing list which you can personalize to your specialty. Once you've entered all your details, press continue.

Checkout - Choosing delivery options

We offer you various different delivery options to best suit your requirements. You can select a Standard or Express delivery. The standard service will be sent First Class, or Airmail for European customers. Express will be sent by courier which is a guaranteed service.

If you are ordering multiple items you can either select Complete delivery where all the items will be delivered together or an Immediate delivery, where items will be sent as soon as they are available. The Complete delivery is the cheaper option of the two, but the Immediate delivery ensures you will receive your books sooner.

If you have a special promotion code, you can use this against any order. All you need to do is enter the code in the promotion code box beneath the Delivery options and the special discount will be applied. Checkout - Payment

Quickly check all the details you've entered, the billing address, delivery address, the item you're ordering etc and make sure they're all correct before you go on to proceed.

Okay, you need to decide how you want to pay for your order. We accept: Visa; MasterCard; Switch; Delta; Maestro; Solo; American Express and Xultbooks.com gift vouchers. You can use a combination of gift vouchers and any debit or credit card we accept to pay for your order. All orders must be prepaid. Press Proceed to Payment to complete. Security Policy

If you are concerned about security, rest assured that we take your privacy and security very seriously. We use the latest technology 256bit SSL (Secure Socket Layer) encryption for all online transactions. This basically means your payment is very, very, very secure.

Unlike other sites, we do not store your credit card details. This prevents Phishing attacks obtaining your card details.

Our website security is also regularly and independently audited by Hacker Safe to ensure that all your information is kept secure. (coming soon). See security policy for more information

Order confirmation

Once you've successfully entered your card details, the order number will be displayed on your screen, please take note of this number. We will also send you an order confirmation email with your order details listed (excluding your card details for security reasons), and email you when your goods are despatched. Details of how to cancel, return, change or track your order (should you need to) are listed within your order confirmation email.

Tracking your order

For your peace of mind we supply each item you order with an estimated time of arrival (ETA). This is based on how long it will take to source the item and the average delivery time of the delivery option you have chosen.

You can see the progress of your order from within your 'My Account'. The current status is displayed next to each item within your order. You can also track the shipment of each parcel with online tracking; all of our deliveries are traceable for our customers' benefit. See tracking an order for more information.
